Scanolo, an alternative to ME-QR
ME-QR's free plan looks very generous: 10,000 codes, unlimited scans, a year of statistics. The last line of its pricing table also reads “All QR codes with ads”. That line changes a great deal for anyone printing a menu, a poster or a flyer.

| Criterion | ME-QR | Scanolo |
|---|---|---|
| Free plan | 10,000 codes, unlimited scans, one year of analytics history (pricing page, checked September 2026) | 3 dynamic codes, unlimited scans, 30 days of statistics |
| Advertising on scan | “All QR codes with ads”, an advert appears before the person reaches your content | A verified link redirects immediately, with no interstitial page |
| First tier with no ads anywhere | Premium, €14 per month billed monthly, €7.59 per month billed yearly | The free plan already redirects without advertising |
| Middle tier | Lite, €8.75 per month billed monthly or €5.33 billed yearly, with a single ad-free code in total | Starter, €7 excl. VAT per month with no commitment |
| Codes once the subscription stops | The publisher's FAQ answers that the codes stay usable | Redirection kept, written into the terms and conditions |
| Publisher and data | ME Team L.L.C-FZ, United Arab Emirates; Hetzner servers in Germany per the privacy policy | French publisher, servers in the European Union |
| Anti-phishing checks on destinations | Not publicly documented | At creation, on every change, then at regular intervals |
The advert comes before your page
On ME-QR's free plan, the person scanning sees an advert first, then your content. The publisher writes it in its own documentation: when scanning, your users will see advertisements before accessing the content. Nothing wrong with the principle, it is what pays for the free tier, and the publisher does not hide it.
Commercially, it adds a detour between your poster and your page. A customer scanning a menu in a restaurant lands on an advert that is not yours, sometimes a competitor's, and a few of them give up there. Scanolo puts no advertising on its redirects, on any plan: a verified link sends people straight to your destination.
Counting the ad-free codes
The Lite plan, at €8.75 per month billed monthly, gives one ad-free code in total, not one per month. Every other code keeps its advert. To remove advertising everywhere, you move up to Premium, at €14 per month billed monthly or €7.59 per month if you pay the year in advance.
For comparison, Scanolo shows €7 excl. VAT per month for the Starter plan, with no commitment, and its three free codes already redirect without an interstitial. The arithmetic goes fast once you count the materials you plan to print this year.
What ME-QR does well
Its pricing page is franker than the sector average. It shows the monthly and the yearly price side by side, labelled “Billed Monthly” and “Billed Yearly”, instead of displaying the yearly rate and letting you believe it is the monthly one. The volumes allowed are considerable, the code types are numerous, and code lifetime is stated as unlimited on every tier.
If you need to generate thousands of codes and the advert on scan does not bother you, or if your budget is strictly nil, ME-QR will do the job better than our free plan capped at three codes.
