Our commitments, written to be kept.
A printed QR code is a commitment that spans several years. You should be able to trust us on precise rules, not on a marketing promise. Here they are.
A printed code never dies
Whatever your plan, including after cancellation or a return to the free plan, a dynamic code keeps redirecting to its last destination. We don't deactivate a code for commercial reasons.
Only two situations interrupt a redirect: you pause the code yourself, or our security check blocks it because the destination is dangerous. Either way, the person scanning sees a page that explains what happened, never a silent error.
The price is shown before you sign up
Prices are on the Pricing page, in euros excl. VAT, monthly with no commitment or annual. There's no free trial that quietly turns into a charge: the free plan is free with no time limit, and you only enter a card the day you choose a paid plan.
Cancellation happens from your account, in one click, effective at the end of the period you've already paid for.
Your data can be exported at any time
The list of your codes with their short addresses and destinations exports as CSV from the app. Same for the stats. You're never locked in.
Hosted in Europe, minimal data
Servers are located in the European Union. A scan is logged with the country, the device type and the time; the IP address isn't kept in plain form, and there's no cookie or personal identifier on destination pages.
Destinations are checked
Every link is checked at creation, on every edit, then regularly. A questionable link shows a warning before continuing; a dangerous link is blocked. Anyone can report a code from the Report page.
A real person answers
The service is published by a small French company. Messages sent from the Contact page are read by a person, in French or in English.
Continuity clause
If Scanolo were to shut down, we commit to notifying all users by email with 12 months' notice, to keeping redirects running during that period, and to providing a full export of codes and destinations. We'll also document a handover procedure (export of slugs and destinations) so another service can take over the redirects if the domain is transferred to it.
This commitment is written into our terms of service.
