Your account: signup, login, security

You sign up and, instead of a link to click in your inbox, you're asked for a six-digit code. Next time you log in, a second code is requested again. You wonder if that's normal.

The answer

Yes, that's how Scanolo normally works. Signup and login are protected by a six-digit verification code sent by email, on top of your password. You can still ask not to see it for 30 days on a device you consider trusted.

Step by step

  1. Fill in the signup form with your email and a password, then click "Create my account".
  2. Open the email you receive and note the six-digit code.
  3. Enter that code on the next screen and click "Verify".
  4. Each time you log in, enter your password and then the new code sent by email.
  5. Check "Don't ask for a code on this device for 30 days" so you don't have to retype it on this computer.

Creating your account

Fill in the form with your email and a password of at least 10 characters, with at least one letter and one digit, then click "Create my account". Nothing is saved yet: a six-digit code is sent to your inbox immediately. Enter it on the next screen and click "Verify". The account only exists from that point on, which keeps out fake accounts created with an address that belongs to nobody.

Logging in with two steps

Every login first asks for your email and password, then a new six-digit code sent by email. If you don't get it within a minute, a "Resend code" button is available. To avoid retyping it every time on your own computer, check "Don't ask for a code on this device for 30 days": after that window, or on another device, the code becomes required again.

Forgotten password

From the login screen, click "Forgot your password?", enter your address and click "Send the link". The link you receive by email is valid for one hour and takes you to a form to pick a new password.

Frequently asked questions

What if I never receive the verification code?

Check your spam folder, then use the "Resend code" button. If it still doesn't arrive, contact support from the Contact page.

Does the trusted device also work for logging in from my phone?

Yes, but each browser and device pair is recognized separately: checking the box on your computer doesn't exempt your phone from entering a code the first time.
