Working as a team and using the API

You're no longer managing your codes alone: a colleague or a contractor needs to be able to step in, or you want to connect Scanolo to another tool you already use.

The answer

From your workspace settings, invite a member by email with a role (admin or member): they join your workspace and share the same codes. The number of members and API access depend on your plan, with the API reserved for the Pro and Business plans.

Step by step

  1. Open the workspace settings, Workspace tab.
  2. Enter the email and role of the member to invite, then click "Send invitation".
  3. For the API, open the API tab in settings.
  4. Name your key and click "Create a key".
  5. Copy the key shown right away: it will never be shown in full again.

Inviting and managing members

Enter the person's email and their role, then click "Send invitation". An admin can manage codes and invite other members, a member can manage codes without inviting anyone. The maximum number of members depends on your plan: 1 on Free and Starter, 3 on Pro, 10 on Business. Removing a member from the list doesn't delete their own account, only their access to this workspace.

Creating and using an API key

From the API tab in settings, name your key and click "Create a key": the full key is only shown once, copy it right away, only its prefix stays visible afterward. Every plan with API access has a requests-per-minute limit: 60 on Pro, 300 on Business. Revoke a key as soon as an integration no longer needs it: any integration still using it immediately stops working.

Frequently asked questions

Can I recover a lost API key?

No, the full key is only shown once, at creation. If you lost it, revoke it and create a new one.

Can a member see the workspace's billing information?

Managing the subscription (changing plan, cancelling) stays reserved for the workspace owner, whatever role the other members have.
