Editing the destination after printing

Your website moved, your menu got a new card, or your promotional offer ended. The QR code, though, is already printed on hundreds of flyers or stuck on your shop windows.

The answer

If the code is in dynamic mode, open its page and click "Edit", change the content, then save. The short address encoded in the printed pattern never changes: only the destination it points to gets updated, instantly and without reprinting.

Step by step

Open the code's page from your dashboard.
Click "Edit".
Change the content (address, text, details...).
Click "Save": the change takes effect immediately.

Why this doesn't work with a static code

A static code encodes its content directly in its pattern, without going through a Scanolo server. There's nothing to update remotely: to change anything, you have to create a new code and reprint the artwork. That's the main practical difference between the two modes, beyond statistics.

A history of every change

Every destination change is logged in the code's history, with the old and new value and the date of the change. Useful to trace what was edited when several people on your team manage the same code, especially on a card or a menu that gets updated often.

Plan ahead before you print

Since only a dynamic code lets you fix a wrong link or a typo after the fact, it's worth picking dynamic mode by default for anything you plan to print in any real quantity, even if the content feels final today.

Is the destination change immediate?

Yes, as soon as you save, the next scan redirects to the new destination.

Can I change the content type, for instance switch from a web address to a menu?

No, the type is fixed when the code is created. You can edit the content within the same type, not switch to another type.
